Nomad and Uhura

An early interstellar probe created by the brilliant scientist Jackson Roykirk
and launched from Earth in 2002 to seek out other life in the Galaxy. It
featured in the original series episode "The Changeling". Nomad was presumed
lost in a meteor shower, but in fact managed to repair itself and combine
its control programs with those of an alien probe called Tan Ru whose mission
was to collect and sterilize soil samples from other worlds. During the
encounter between these probes their missions became fused and confused
with deadly effect, so that Nomad now believes its mission is to "find and
destroy imperfection".
