air speed indicator
An instrument that measures the speed of an aircraft relative to the air
through which it passes. An air speed indicator measures the difference
in pressures of air rushing through a pitot
tube (generally mounted on the wing) and static air from a vent on the
fuselage; air-speed is usually indicated in miles per hour or knots.
