ataxia



Impaired coordination of body movements resulting in unsteady gait, difficulty in fine movements, and speech disorder. Caused by disease of the cerebellum or spinal cord, ataxia occurs with multiple sclerosis, certain hereditary conditions, and in the late stages of syphilis.
