Boyce, Chris (1943–1999)

Chris Boyce was a Scottish science fiction and science writer (full name: Joseph Christopher Boyce) who was an important contributor to the subject of extraterrestrial probes and von Neumann probes. His ideas on this subject are summarized in his 1979 book Extraterrestrial Encounter: A Personal Perspective.1 His best known SF novel, Catchworld, was published in 1974. Boyce was a member of the British Interplanetary Society (BIS) and of the Association in Scotland To Research into Astronautics (ASTRA).
