chiller

A chiller is a device used for cooling water for the purpose of space cooling or air conditioning. The chilled water is distributed throughout a building using pipes or air ducts or both. Chillers, which may be described as "centrifugal chillers," "reciprocating chillers," or "absorption chillers," are generally located in or just outside the building they serve. Buildings receiving district chilled water are served by chillers located at central physical plants.
