chronogramA phrase or sentence in which certain letters represent, cryptically, a date, epoch, or, in rare cases, a non-date number. For example, the chronogram "My Day Is Closed In Immortality" commemorates the death of Queen Elizabeth the First of England: the capital letters can be rearranged to give MDCIII, or 1603, the year in which she died.
