Florey, Howard Walter (1898–1968)
Australian-born British pathologist who worked with Ernst Chain
and others to extract penicillin from
Penicillin notatum mold for use as a therapeutic drug (1938–44).
He shared with Chain and Alexander Fleming
the 1945 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Related
