The amount of heat in a quantity of matter under specific conditions. The technical name for heat content is enthalpy which is the amount of heat used or released in a system at constant pressure. In practice, we talk change in enthalpy, which is related to a change in internal energy (U) and a change in the volume (V), multiplied by the constant pressure of the system.
