heat shifter A device that enables residual heat from one heated room to be transferred to another room when the heater has been turned off, or alternatively, allows excess heat to be sifted from one room to another, whilst the heater is still in operation. Heat shifters are most effective at providing background heat for rooms not normally requiring constant heating, such as bedrooms.
