Infrared Space Interferometer (IRSI)
A Cornerstone Mission in the European Space Agency's Horizon Plus initiative, one of the principal goals of which will be to search for and characterize Earth-like extrasolar planets. Among the leading proposed designs is Darwin. Final selection of the Interferometer Cornerstone will be made in about 2000 for launch in the period 2009 to 2017.
