kilowatt-hour (kWh)

A unit or measure of electricity supply or consumption of one thousand watts acting over a period of one hour. The kWh is a unit of energy. 1 kWh = 3600 kJ =3412 Btu. It is the unit in which domestic and industrial users of electricity are charged.
