kampyle of Eudoxus
A hour-glass-shaped curve that was first studied by Eudoxus in an attempt to solve the classical problem of duplicating the cube. It is described by the Cartesian equation

a2x4 = b4(x2 + y2)


It is also the radial curve of the catenary.
