    Multichannel Astrometric Photometer and Spectrometer (MAPS)

    An instrument developed at Allegheny Observatory for detecting extrasolar planets which is unique in its simultaneous use of two techniques-the radial velocity method and astrometry. Capable of detecting planets of Uranian mass, it has been used on the Keck II Telescope (see Keck Telescopes).
