Multichannel Astrometric Photometer and Spectrometer (MAPS)
Multichannel Astrometric Photometer and Spectrometer (MAPS) is an instrument developed at Allegheny Observatory for detecting extrasolar planets which is unique in its simultaneous use of two techniques-the radial velocity method and astrometry. Capable of detecting planets of Uranian mass, it has been used on the Keck II Telescope (see Keck Telescopes).
