Maxwell's equations
A set of four partial
differential equations that describe and predict the behavior of electromagnetic
waves in free space, in dielectrics, and at conductor-dielectric boundaries.
Maxwell's equations expand upon and unify the laws of Ampere, Faraday, and
Gauss, and form the foundation of modern electromagnetic theory.
