Mayor, Michel (1959-)
Swiss astronomer at the Geneva Observatory who was the codiscoverer, with Didier Queloz, of the first known planet around a Sun-like star (see 51 Pegasi). Mayor and his colleagues have since found several other extrasolar planets using the Elodie and Coralie spectrographs and their associated telescopes.
