mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC)The average hemoglobin concentration in erythrocytes (red blood cells). Mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) is expressed in g/dl. Normal human values range from 32 to 36 g/dl. MCHC can be calculated as ([Hb]/Hct) × 100 (i.e. the ratio of hemoglobin concentration to hematocrit times 100). See also complete blood count (CBC).
