nickel silver




Also called German silver, an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc. Nickel silver is hard and does not tarnish easily. It resembles silver, and is used for cheap jewelry, cutlery, etc., and as the base for silver-plated ware (E.P.N.S., electroplated nickel silver).
