Ørsted (satellite)
A Danish microsatellite designed to map Earth's magnetic field, measure
the charged particle environment, and study auroral phenomena. Data from
the mission complement those collected by Magsat.
The spacecraft is named after the Danish physicist Hans Christian Oersted
(1777–1851) who discovered electromagnetism in 1820.
