Persinger, Michael

Canadian neurophysiologist at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, whose research has shed light on phenomena that may have some bearing on reports of alien abduction and unidentified flying objects. Persinger believes that some individuals may have an abduction experience because of high temporal lobe lability and claims to be able to replicate the abduction experience and related phenomena by arranging pulsed magnets around a subject's skull. He has also investigated the relationship between UFO sightings and tectonic activity (see earthlights).
