pterodactyl



A fossil pterosaur of the genus Pterodactylus (from the Greek for "winged finger") that lived during the Jurassic period, 190–135 million years ago. Pterodactyls were relatively small, with an adult wingspan of approximately 1.5 meters (5 feet). The skulls of adult Pterodactylus were long and narrow with about 90 large, conical teeth.
