stainless steel



A corrosion-resistant steel containing more than 10% chromium, little carbon, and often nickel and other metals. Made in the electric furnace, there are four main types: ferritic, martensitic, austenitic, and precipitation-hardening. Stainless steel is used for cutlery and many industrial components.
