thermidistat
A sophisticated programmable thermostat
that senses the outdoor temperature, indoor air temperature, and indoor
relative humidity. A microprocessor
communicates with the heating and cooling equipment to determine the most
efficient way to achieve optimal comfort. When used with a variable speed
blower motor, such a system can help reduce humidity and thereby comfort
levels even when cooling isn't necessary (for example, if the indoor temperature
is about 70°F but relative humidity is high). Related
