tank In rocketry: (1) A container incorporated into the structure of a liquid-fueled rocket from which a liquid propellant or propellants are fed into the combustion chamber or chambers. (2) A container for storage of liquid oxygen, liquid fuel, or other liquid propellant until transferred to the rocket's tanks or some other receptacle.
