thermograph

Any type of thermometer that is self-registering, recording variations of temperature with time on a graph. A bimetallic strip is often used as the temperature-sensitive element, its deflection being recorded on a rotating drum via a system of levers. Thermographs are widely used in meteorology and atmospheric investigations.
