Watson and Marilyn Alberts Chair
The first academic position devoted to SETI. It was established in the Department of Astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley, as a result of a gift from two alumni with a long-standing interest in the field. The first holder of the chair is William ("Jack") Welch.
