Wood, John A.

Staff scientist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. His research focuses on the study of meteorites as samples of primordial planetary material, lunar petrology and geophysics, and the origin of the planets. Wood is a world leader in meteoritics and planetary science. His application of physical and chemical principles to the origin of primitive meteorites, the cooling rate of iron and chondritic meteorites, and the crystal-liquid process on the Moon have provided fundamental controls on process in the early solar system. Wood is a member of the Space Studies Board.
