green wood chip furnace
A home heating furnace that burns green wood chips has been developed by
Vermont experimenter Steve Redmond. He has formed a company, Vermont Heat
Research, to explore the use of new methods of combustion to produce clean
heat from basic unprocessed renewable solid fuels. Redmond's VTHR furnace
is unusual in that it does not require wood to be dried to produce heat
at high efficiency without smoke. It uses wood from brush, tree limbs, timber
waste and other low grade sources. Redmond also points out that wood may
be farmed for rapid production for chips using a method called coppicing.

Experimental Wood Chip Furnace" at Redmond's website.
