Architecture that incorporates features to take advantage of passive
solar energy, daylighting, and/or
active solar energy.
Some methods of solar architecture date back thousands of years. Others
make use of the most advanced technology, involving solar
collectors and solar moduless,
together with passive building elements such as selective
surface coatings and Trombe walls.
Depending on circumstances and location, the goal of solar architecrure
may be to achieve zero-energy,
low-energy, or plus-energy buildings.
