Anasazi

A prehistoric culture of the American Southwest, whose modern manifestation is the Pueblo Indians. The earliest Anasazi (Navaho: "ancient ones") remains are dated c.50 AD. They were skilled basket weavers, in later times farmers and outstanding potters. Between about 1000 and 1300 AD they built the famous cliff dwellings.
