Claudius I (10 BC–AD 54)

Claudius I was a Roman emperor (r.41–54), nephew of Tiberius, the first emperor chosen by the army. He had military success in Germany, conquered Britain in 43 AD, and built both the harbor at Ostia at the mouth of the Tiber and the Claudian aqueduct. Agrippina, his fourth wife, poisoned him and made her son Nero emperor.
