Thomas Telford

Thomas Telford was a Scottish civil engineer responsible for many British roads, harbors, canals, and bridges. He is best known for his suspension bridge over the Menai Straits, North Wales (1819–1826); the construction of the Caledonian Canal, Scotland (1804–1822); the Göta Canal, Sweden (1808–1810), and many Scottish canals.
