DIN

DIN is an acronym of Deutsches Institut für Normung (the German national standards organization). DIN provides a standard for a near-coincident stereo miking specifying two cardioid microphone 20 centimeters (7.9 inches) apart and angled at 90 degrees. Other systems use 110 to 120 degrees, but 90 degrees is considered easier to set up.
