Bárány, Robert (1876–1936)
Austrian-Hungarian/Swedish physician who was awarded the 1914 Nobel Prize
in Physiology or Medicine for his work on the vestibular apparatus of the
ear. His studies of the normal and abnormal
functioning of this important balancing mechanism greatly advanced understanding
