Cannon, Walter Bradford (1871–1945)
American physiologist who studied the regulation of hunger and thirst in
animals, introduced the term homeostasis
to describe the ability of an organism to maintain its internal environment,
and proposed a theory that placed the seat of emotions in the thalamus
