co-rotation

Co-rotation is a situation in which at least one of two bodies that are orbiting around each other, has the same rotation period as its orbital period so that it always keep the same face toward its partner. The co-rotation of the Moon means that the lunar farside is never visible from Earth; the co-rotation of both Pluto and Charon ensures that both objects never turn their backs on each other.
