A cooling tower is a tall construction that uses atmospheric air to cool warm water in refrigeration and steam-power generation systems. These are three types of towers: atmospheric cooling towers, which depend on wind currents; natural draught towers, which depend on natural convection currents; and mechanical draught towers, which use fans to provide forced or induced convection.
