The 1.85-meter Plaskett reflector
at the Dominian Astrophysical Observatory |
An optical observatory, founded in 1917, operated by the Herzberg Institute
of Astrophysics, and located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Its
main instrument is the 72-inch (1.85-m) Plaskett reflector, named after
the observatory's first director, John Plaskett
and equipped with a new mirror in 1974. The DAO also houses the 1.22-m McKellar
reflector, inaugurated in 1962, and the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre.
