double-mode variable
A pulsating variable that oscillates in the fundamental mode plus one overtone of this mode. First overtone pulsations are seen in beat Cepheids and some other types. The Blazhko effect, shown by some RR Lyrae stars, may be explainable in terms of a third overtone.
