Eccles, John Carew (1903–1997)
Australian physiologist who shared the 1963 Nobel Prize in Physiology or
Medicine with Alan Hodgkin and Andrew Huxley. Using their findings, he had
been able to establish the chemical bases of the electrical changes during
the transmission of nerve impulses
