Erlanger, Joseph (1874–1965)



Joseph Erlanger
American physiologist who shared with Herbert Gasser the 1964 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discovery that different nerve fibers have different functions, carrying different types of impulses and at different speeds.
