An ephemeris is a tabulation of the predicted positions of a celestial object, such as a planet or comet, in an orderly sequence for a number of dates. An ephemeris may also list distances of an object from the Sun and/or Earth, as well as magnitudes. Sets of ephemerides are published annually in almanacs.
