Flora family
A collection of asteroids near the inner
edge of the asteroid belt whose orbits
have semimajor axes of 2.12 to 2.25 AU and mean inclinations of about 5°.
All the members of the Flora family probably came from the breakup of a
single parent body; however, other asteroids in this region with similar
orbital characteristics appear to have different origins. The prototype
is (8) Flora, discovered by John Hind in 1847.
