A fluoroscope is a device used in medical diagnosis and engineering quality control which allows the direct observation of an X-ray beam (see X-rays) which is being passed through the object under examination. It contains a fluorescent screen which converts the X-ray image into visible light see luminescence) and, often, an image intensifier.
