Cyril Hinshelwood

Cyril Hinshelwood was a British chemist, president of the Royal Society (1955–1960). From 1937–1964 he was professor of chemistry at Oxford, and research fellow at Imperial College, London, from 1964. He shared the 1956 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Nikolai Semenov for their simultaneous work on chemical reaction kinetics.
