Humboldt current

The Humboldt current, also known as the Peru current, is a current in the Pacific Ocean which is an extension of the West Wind Drift. It flows north along the west coast of South America. The Humboldt current is a cold current, lowering the temperature along its course until it joins the warm Pacific South Equatorial current.
