hyperbaric chamber
A chamber built to withstand and be kept at pressures above atmospheric. The high oxygen pressures achieved in them may destroy the anaerobic bacteria (Clostridia) responsible for gas gangrene; surgery may be dome in the chamber. It is also used for aeroembolism in decompression.
