Langevin, Paul (1872–1946)

Paul Langevin
Paul Langevin was a French physicist. In 1905 he was the first to interpret paramagnetism and diamagnetism in terms of the behavior of electrons in atoms. During World War I, he built the first submarine detector based on ultrasonic waves, and it was later developed into sonar.
