luminous flux A measure of the rate of flow of visible light, i.e. the radiant flux in the wavelength range 380-760 nm, corrected for the dependence on wavelength of the sensitivity of the human eye. It is measured by reference to emission from a standard source. The SI unit of luminous flux is the lumen.
