Miaplacidus (Beta Carinae)
The second brightest star in the constellation Carina,
a subgiant A star. Its name is of uncertain
origin, possibly part Arab, part Latin: the Arabic Mi'ah for "waters"
combining with the Latin placidus to give "placid waters."
