Neopilina



Neopilina
A genus of mollusc that was thought to have been extinct by the end of the Devonian period, 345 million years ago, until one was found off the coast of Costa Rica in 1952. It has a round, bilateral, fragile body frame. Neopilina belongs to the class Monoplacophora.
